The Law of Attraction
Have you ever heard of the Law of Attraction? It’s a concept that’s popular with the metaphysics and self-help crowds. It’s a simple idea. Basically, if you really want something, you focus your mind on it, and if you think about it hard enough, it comes to you.
It’s a seductive idea. Instead of working hard to achieve your dreams, all you need to do is think about what you want. Why bother going through the motions when you can just work on affirmations or creative visualization instead? You don’t even have to leave your living room.
Proponents of the Law of Attraction will say that, by working hard on your goals, your keeping your dream in the forefront of your mind. After all, anything worthwhile takes time, and using the Law of Attraction can help keep you focused on your goal. But guess what? So can anything else that works for you.
If the Law of Attraction helps keep you focused on your goals, than by all means, keep up whatever it is you’re doing. Just remember that it’s not the panacea it’s made out to be. In fact, how the process works is immaterial. Only the results truly matter.
