2015 Update

2015 UpdateIt’s 2015, and I’d like to give my readers a quick update on my life, and where I want to go with this website.

When I first started blogging in August 2011, my goal was three posts per week: every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I kept to that goal for a year or two, using my long train commute to type up my posts. But as my graphic design career started to take off, I found less time for blogging. Over time, my updates became more sporadic. Toward the end of 2014, I would neglect this site for weeks at a time. But I did not forget about it. I am proud of the work I’ve done on this site in the last few years, and I’d like to continue to bring you original writing, art and photos. Hopefully, I will be able to do that now that I have some time on my hands.

My work laid me off last month, right before Christmas. My bosses let me go for financial reasons, even though they said they loved my work. That didn’t make it hurt any less. But as much as it still stings, I’m trying to make the best of this unfortunate turn of events. Now that I’m unemployed, I can catch up on all the ideas I’ve been putting off for months.

I’m optimistic about 2015, and I think that I can make some real positive changes in my life. One of those changes is catching up on this blog. I want to make this a better website to show off my work, and make it a destination that people will want to go to. On the other hand, I don’t want to throw myself into it full throttle, and forget about it when I get a new job. So for now, I’ve decided to do one blog post a week. If I have additional work to share, I may update more often, but I would rather set a more modest goal at the moment.

I have additional ideas on where this website is going in 2015. Stop by every week to find out more!

I am so sorry! I know how horrible that feels. I was let go in late 2013 and was able to find a job early last year.

It ended up being the best ever. My new job is awesome and creative. So I know it sucks right now, but it may end up being awesome!
