Support Me on Patreon
If, like me, you watch a lot of YouTubers, you may be familiar with Patreon. This is a website that allows you to financially support your favorite artists and content creators. This allows artists to release content for free, while still paying the bills. Recently I started a Patreon page, so that fans of my work can chip in if they’d like. This is, of course, completely optional, but by supporting me on Patreon, you will enable me to create more awesome content.
The Patreon Plan
I started this blog as a hobby back in 2011. For over six years, I have created original content: essays about history and technology, cool maps and graphics, and photo essays with original commentary. I really like making this content. I make it for myself first and foremost, but it’s a good feeling when others appreciate it as well.
This blog has evolved as my skills as an artist and writer have improved. When my Corporate States of America map first went viral a few years back, it gave me an indication that I was on the right track. I really like doing this, and I’d like to do it more in the future. I would like to expand my portfolio with video creation as well, adapting content for YouTube and creating new and awesome content in general. But all of this is time-consuming. So to grow this site, I’m asking for your help. If you like this site, and can afford to do so, consider becoming a Patron. You can support me for as little as a dollar a month, helping me to create more cool and interesting things to share with you in return.
Supporting me on Patreon has its perks. In addition to the warm, fuzzy feeling you’ll get from becoming a Patron, you’ll also get to see content early. And for Patrons supporting me at higher levels, you’ll additional perks such as access to exclusive Q&A sessions, as well as shoutouts on social media and on this website. There are no commitments with the site. I’ve been supporting a couple of artists on it for a while, and it’s super easy to set up.
