A Secret Messiah

InterrobangWhat if Jesus Christ came back to Earth and didn’t tell anyone? It sounds like the start of a joke, but I mean it quite seriously. Imagine a Second Coming of the Messiah, or even a Third or Fourth, without anyone ever knowing. Instead of heralding the end of the world, Jesus’ return would keep things running smoothly. Maybe this messiah would be more focused on building a better Earth, rather than scrapping it all and moving on to the Kingdom of Heaven.

Think about it. Instead of going around preaching and challenging the established order, maybe this secret messiah would work in more subtle methods. Maybe He lives a quiet but influential life, using His superhuman powers to help out in ways that no one could ever know. Imagine thousands of miracles that no one ever notices — the subtle nudging of a Divine Shepherd. I think this is a concept that is vastly underrated. After all, if God can manifest as Man, wouldn’t He want to keep a quiet presence on Earth at all times, a force for good that keeps us moving in the right direction? The world can be a rough place. I think we could all use a little bit of God Incarnate in the world today.

What do you think? Let me know in the comment section.
